Aged 11, Maggie Johnson started at St Edmund’s Catholic School, the second of five siblings who would all attend, develop and thrive in this supportive, caring environment.
Indeed, she enjoyed her school days so much that she returns as Principal starting in September.
She said: “I am absolutely delighted and proud to have returned to St Edmund’s and to take up this exciting post in September.
“I have so many wonderful memories of the friends and teachers who made my time at school feel so safe and supported and yet challenged me to be the best I could be.
We worked hard and laughed often –a good recipe for success.” Now Maggie Hazeldine, the Principal Designate, shares her dynamic vision for St Edmund’s Catholic Academy and its Catholic Primary School partners in the Bishop Cleary MAC.
Underpinned by St Edmund’s CARE values (Calm; Aspirational; Respectful; Engaged) staff at the Academy are committed to the personal, spiritual and academic growth of each and every student within its community.
“We welcome students from all faiths and from none to share in our success: our excellent facilities, brilliant examination results at GCSE and A-level, superb sport, music and performance opportunities and our most celebrated resource – the excellent quality of both teaching and pastoral care.”
St Edmund’s is a truly diverse community, celebrating 40 languages with a real sense of social, spiritual and intellectual mission. There is a calm, purposeful manner in the building, one of high expectations where no one is left behind.
“At our heart, we work together and we care about each other – promoting kindness, good manners and hard work.”
