Blue Coat Church of England Academy has a long-standing and proud history in Walsall.
The Blue Coat Foundation has an impressive record of providing excellent Christian education for students.
This was founded hundreds of years ago, when education was provided for orphans and deprived children.
This was to enable them to access the benefits that a good education could bring. In the modern world, the lives of young people may be completely different, but the desire to be well educated within a caring family lives on in the heart of staff, pupils and their families
The Principal, David Smith, said: “We serve a wide and diverse community and are recognised as a good and rapidly improving school, committed to developing children as individuals.
“Our strong Christian ethos is central to all we aspire to achieve and as a community we thrive on developing positive relationships and building mutual respect.
We hold high expectations for all students and encourage pupils to make the most of their talents, while also enjoying the challenge of mastering new or existing skills.
The Christian values on which the school is founded, underpin all aspects of our work and form the basis of our academic and behavioural standards.
We have the high expectations of everyone at Blue Coat and we strive to continually enhance the Academy as a learning community, looking for ways to develop and improve, embracing new technology and adapting to the demands of the modern world.
We are always looking for ways to learn from past experiences to build a better future.
This is the basis of our motto, ‘Respice Prospice’ meaning ‘Look backward. Look forward’.
“As a Church of England secondary school, Blue Coat Academy is in a unique position in Walsall.
We are confident that the Christian ethos and values, on which the school is founded, provide a secure foundation for success and fulfilment.
“We would always warmly welcome you to visit the Academy to see us at work and answer any questions which you may have.
We understand the difficulty of choosing the right secondary school for your child and we firmly believe that our family ethos built on strong Christian values provides strong foundations for a smooth transition from primary school into a secondary setting.”
An open evening will be held on Thursday, October 4 from 6-8pm.
