SCHOOL COMBINES INNOVATIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES WITH TRADITIONAL VALUES AND A CHRISTIAN ETHOS THAT ENCOURAGES KINDNESS, HARDWORK AND LEADERSHIP

Lichfield Cathedral School

Year 7 is the beginning of an exciting journey for Lichfield Cathedral School students.

A challenging academic curriculum filled with creative, interesting subjects; a wide range of sports; Forest School lessons; music, the arts and drama; and a brilliant team of enthusiastic teachers all focused on ensuring each pupil develops the confidence to become lifelong learners.

Exceptional pastoral support is provided by a team of teachers and support staff, helping to overcome any anxiety about joining a new school and offering guidance and advice where needed.

Insightful educational trips and a comprehensive range of stimulating after school clubs and activities bring learning to life and expose students to new ideas and new ways of thinking.

The curriculum is designed to stretch and challenge all students, with the most able taking part in engaging opportunities inside and outside of school that extend and accelerate learning.

To broaden students’ cultural horizons and prepare them to be global citizens in an increasingly competitive workplace, students have the opportunity to study two languages from Year 7 onwards, choosing from French, Spanish, German and Latin.

Lichfield Cathedral School is one of the most highly regarded independent schools in Staffordshire, with a well-earned reputation for delivering excellent academic results at GCSE and A-level.

The success of the school lies in combining innovative teaching techniques with traditional values and a Christian ethos that encourages kindness, hard work and leadership embedded throughout its 800-year history.

Small class sizes (around 20) and nurturing environment ensure that each child receives individual attention and develops the skills they need to become independent learners and critical thinkers.

The school’s unique Ethical Leadership Programme enables students to develop life skills in communication, team working, problem-solving, adaptability, negotiation and time-management that will be beneficial far beyond the classroom.
