Bridgnorth Endowed School is delighted to unveil its four newly rebranded houses, a change driven by pupils at the school in its truest sense.
The house system is the foundation on which the school stands and has always been a significant part of its rich and extremely long history. Pupils take a great deal of pride in their houses, working hard throughout the year and taking part in an exciting programme of
competitions and sports events to gain points wherever possible. With the school being very much part of the town’s fabric, locals were invited to join in with the voting and Latin-inspired names won by a landslide. Aligned closely with the school’s ethos, the new houses were renamed Veritas meaning truth, Scientia meaning knowledge, Virtus meaning courage and Invictus meaning unconquerable.
Central to these values is the desire to develop well-rounded young people who are able to discover their unique talents and achieve their potential in an environment where they are happy and can thrive.
Set in a beautiful 30-acre wooded campus with sports pitches, an historic Old Hall and first-class educational facilities, the school benefits from its own on-site leisure centre and the convenience of a town centre location in the heart of Bridgnorth. Smaller than the average sized secondary school, Bridgnorth Endowed fosters a real sense of community that enables students, parents and staff to really get to know each other.
Bridgnorth Endowed is an extraordinary school that combines its solid 500-year history with a progressive approach to education. The teaching programme focuses on creating an educational experience that fires up the students’ passion for learning and encourages them to get fully involved in the fantastic choice of extracurricular activities on offer.
Headteacher, Mr Worth, comments: “We strongly believe in providing an outstanding education that inspires all of our young people to excel in the classroom and beyond.
Most importantly, we aim to encourage students to be successful and happy in a competitive world, and to build a bright future for themselves.” Bridgnorth Endowed is holding an Open Evening for September 2022 admissions on Thursday 7th October 2021, and group tours of the school will run throughout September and October.
