Students at Bristnall Hall Academy receive a superb level of focus from staff to support them whilst they are at the academy, and develop skills, attributes and excellent portfolios of qualifications that will support them in the future.
Bristnall Hall Academy has been recognised nationally for its excellent results in 2017 based on data from the Department of Education and Ofsted, analysed by SSAT (the Schools, Students and Teachers network).
Bristnall Hall Academy was found to be among the best performing secondary schools in the country, receiving an award for being in the top 20% of schools nationally for progress.
The award follows an outstanding Progress 8 figure as Bristnall Hall Academy demonstrated an improvement for the third consecutive year in 2017, with figures among the highest in the West Midlands.
Bristnall Hall Academy’s Progress 8 scores are positive in every category, including the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.
The outstanding Progress 8 figure shows that students of all abilities are making transformational progress, particularly with high ability students.
Further recognition of the performance of all stakeholders comes in the form of Bristnall Hall Academy being selected as a ‘Leading Edge’ school, which places the academy amongst the highest performing schools nationally.
A school spokesman said: “Students’ conduct around the academy is something we are very proud of and we are always happy to show visitors around to see our learning community at work at any time of day.
The caring community ethos at Bristnall Hall results in older students supporting and guiding younger students that join us, and students in Key Stage 3 benefit greatly from having strong role models from their peers and staff.
“Our traditional building has been restored to its former glory and will be complemented by additional planned buildings and updated facilities being installed this year.
“We have invested a huge amount into the ICT infrastructure which is set to continue with more hardware and even faster connectivity to support and accelerate the learning that takes place.
We have an excellent team of teaching and support staff who pride themselves on developing strong relationships with our young people, where we have much smaller than average class sizes and a very high staff to student ratio.”
The spokesman added: “The package students receive here includes a free breakfast club for all students every morning and a rich extra-curricular programme that includes academic opportunities alongside a multitude of others including sports and performing.
“In recent years, many secondary schools have limited the amount of experiences students have away from the school site, but at Bristnall Hall we place great value on students partaking in day and residential visits to enhance their learning, build confidence and to give them enriching experiences.
As a result, students have many opportunities that are local, national and overseas.
“It is clear that Bristnall Hall Academy is in a great position with significant improvements in all areas including attendance, facilities and confidence of our fantastic young people.
“Due to the high standards, relentless focus on the quality of learning and teaching, coupled with exceptional care for our young people, Bristnall Hall Academy is an outstanding place to learn and work in.”
