Newcastle-under-Lyme School (NULS) is an excellent place to learn. It is one of the West Midlands’ leading independent day schools, rated Double Excellent by ISI, and welcomes children from all over Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire each year.
Our school achieves outstanding examination results year-on-year, offering our pupils access to the best university courses, colleges, apprenticeships and future careers.
Our motto is ‘Always striving for the highest’ and we are always working to improve and better our school and we encourage our pupils to work hard to get the most out of their time with us.
Our campus is set in 30 acres of grounds near the centre of Newcastle and we have excellent facilities including an astro-turf pitch and a swimming pool, and in the autumn we will be opening our new multi-million pound sports facility which will include state-of-the-art facilities for cricket, netball, badminton and other indoor sports.
We have a dedicated music school, art and ceramics studios, theatre space and a beautiful library and resource centre.
For pupils joining NULS at any point, Nursery, Prep, Senior or Sixth Form, we offer a comprehensive programme of Pastoral Support. We believe the relationships we have with families are crucial to our success.
Alongside academic lessons, we offer a wide programme of co-curricular activities. Our pupils enjoy sports, music and drama as well as activities like debating, DofE, chess and CCF. The Combined Cadet Force at NULS offers our pupils the chance to experience training from the Army, Navy and RAF. Many of our pupils come to school on one of our own minibuses. We run services throughout our catchment areas and are always looking for chances to begin new routes.
We are always keen to meet new families who wish to join us. We offer Headmaster tours by appointment and offer an invitation to join us at our Senior School Open Morning or Sixth Form Open Evening, both in October (register at nuls.org.uk/events).
