A UNIQUE AND SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY SCHOOL PROMOTING COMMON EXPERIENCE,
FRIENDSHIP, TRUST AND HONESTY BETWEEN YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS
Founded in 1650, Thomas Adams is a successful co-educational community school, sixth form and boarding house in the centre of Wem, North Shropshire.
Students attend Thomas Adams School from our local primary schools and many more travel from a wider catchment area on subsidised buses.

The school is renowned for its music, sport and drama provisions. We have specialist centres for these subjects including full performance facilities, a multi use sports centre, extensive playing fields
and a fitness suite.
We have two main sites on our 30-acre campus; The Lowe Hill site caters for Years 7-11 and at our Noble Street site we have our sixth form, offering over 25 subjects at A-level and BTEC.
We also have a thriving boarding provision, Adams House, which accommodates students from the UK and overseas. Increasingly, parents are choosing state boarding schools as they see that they can obtain the education and exceptional pastoral care they are seeking for a fraction of the cost.
It’s a unique setting that promotes common experience, friendship, trust and honesty between young people and adults.
We celebrate diversity and are pleased to welcome students from a variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
