GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN A FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT, WHERE LEARNING IS CHALLENGING, REWARDING AND FUN

Telford College is the largest further education centre in Shropshire – and that means it really does offer something for everyone.

The wide-ranging curriculum includes A-levels, T Levels, apprenticeships, technical and vocational courses, degreelevel and adult education programmes and much, much more.

The college’s university-standard campus in Wellington includes:

Health and Social Care Academy: An industry-standard hospital ward, partnered with local hospitals, giving you perfect preparation for a career in the NHS or social care.

Music Studios: Recording industrystandard workshops, studios and mixing equipment which have helped many students to secure recording careers.

Sport and Leisure: Some of the best facilities in the area including indoor and outdoor 3G football pitches, a double sized sports hall, and gym.

Virtual and Augmented Reality Suite: Simulators, headsets, a VR cave and so much more, including a mobile healthcare training unit.

Automotive & Engineering: Specialist workshops which mirror the workplace, plus CAD suites, welding bays, milling stations and robotics tuition.

Construction Centre: Recently expanded to deliver a new suite of renewable technology courses.

The Orange Tree: A restaurant and training kitchens giving our catering students the chance to learn in a realistic environment.

The Retreat: A fully functioning hair and beauty training salon which is open to the public while running a range of hair and beauty courses.

Telford College is officially rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and prides itself on achievement rates which are comfortably above the national average. A-level provision is in the top 10% in the country, and the college has recorded 100% pass rates across many of courses.

In a recent survey, 98% of students praised the support from tutors, and 95% said they would thoroughly recommend the Telford College experience.

With links to more than 700 employers, and new T Level vocational courses, there are many opportunities for students to enjoy valuable work placements and realworld experience alongside their studies.

The college has also formed a close relationship with two of the region’s most respected universities, Keele and Warwick.

Graham Guest, Telford College principal, says: “We believe that learning should be challenging, rewarding and fun. We want your time with us to be filled with milestones and memories as you develop the knowledge and skills required for your career. Many of our students have gone onto high-flying careers, both at home and abroad, and with a brand-new extra campus soon to open in Telford town centre, there has never been a more exciting time to become part of our family.”

A happy college is a successful college, and the team works very hard on creating a friendly and supportive environment. There is a busy and varied enrichment programme.

Among college graduates to have hit the headlines in recent months is former music student Nieve Ella, who has landed a record deal and performed at Glastonbury this summer.

New for 2023/24
T Levels: An exciting new option for people who prefer a more technical or vocational approach to learning. Each T Level is equivalent to three A-levels, with 80% of time spent in the workplace. Telford College is offering courses in areas such as Health, Science and Digital

Drama and Theatre Studies: A very practical A-level course which gives you chance to explore plays in both performance and a theoretical context, and visit live performances.

Politics: You will get chance to analyse, understand and explain the relationship between political ideas,
institutions and processes on this A-level, which is an ideal ground for careers in local government, law, sociology or economics.

Future IV: A suite of three A-level courses including geology, for those with an interest in preserving the planet, protecting the oceans, and nurturing our natural world. The common denominator between all of the studies is a passion for sustainability.
