A spokesman for the school said: “Visitors to our school always remark on how well our students behave and how polite they are.

Our teachers work passionately to do their very best for our students academically and pastorally, we are always seeking to further improve.

Exams are important but we also seek to provide enrichment opportunities including trips, arts, sporting activities within a framework of continuous spiritual growth.

“In 2015 our hard working pupils produced their best ever GCSE and A-level results as the school’s insistence on diligence and excellence reaped rewards.

At GCSE, results have increased; 71.6% gained A* to C in English and 62% in mathematics.

Over 70% of students gained A* to C in a wide range of subjects
including history, geography, German, PE and computer science.

With a record 59% of all A-levels awarded A* to B grades, this has entitled many students to gain places at the best universities and entry to prestigious courses including medicine, dentistry and law.

“These are the best public examination results in the school’s history and are testament to a relentless concentration on each individual student’s needs and, working closely with parents and carers, in meeting these needs and thereby ensuring success.”

The spokesman added: “We were very pleased to host our first ever Spirit and Sport Day on Tuesday, July 4.

Invitations went out to all of our feeder Catholic schools inviting them to spend the day with us participating in a range of activities including RE, PE, Art, Music, Drama, Science, Languages and English.

We were delighted to welcome our visitors from Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School in Bilston, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Darlaston, St Patrick’s and St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary schools Walsall, St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Bloxwich and St Giles C of E Primary school in Willenhall.

“As the day went on the enthusiasm of our Year 4 visitors served only to add to the creativity and special atmosphere of the event. Children smiled all day long, engaged in what ever activity was presented, mixed and mingled with all they met and made many new friends along the way.

This was greatly aided by the arrival of some specially prepared cookies at break time and ice lollies at lunchtime.

“We thoroughly enjoyed the day and were delighted to welcome our visitors to school.”
