Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School College of Performing Arts is renowned for offering a first-rate education.

There have been impressive results across all subjects with the percentage of students passing both Mathematics and English above 70%.

Stuart Bathurst’s Sixth Form is also celebrating their best ever results.

There was 100% pass rate across all A-level and Vocational courses, with 58% A*-B and 79% A*-C, placing the school in the top 10% of schools nationally.

Sixth Form pupils are supported in Oxbridge applications and again this year Stuart Bathurst’s pupils secured their places at prestigious Universities to study Medicine at the University of Birmingham, History at Lancaster, Mathematics at Exeter and Architecture at University of Manchester, to name but a few.

Stuart Bathurst, the school’s patron, was a local priest who saw education as the key to personal growth and as the means to enable children to make the fullest contribution to the common good of society.

Stuart Bathurst’s example encourages all pupils to have faith in their abilities and talents. This caring school offers an inclusive education from Year 7 to 13 ensuring their pupils secure university placements and employment with success.

The Sixth Form offers a rich variety of subjects within their forward-looking curriculum.

The Pastoral care is a strength of the school and Year 7 pupils benefit from close support from dedicated form tutors, especially in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

This enables all students to embrace their studies with confidence.

Within Key Stage 3 pupils will gain experience of a wide range of subjects to ensure they make the correct choices at GCSE.

Key Stage 4 offers a curriculum designed to challenge and stimulate pupils to become successful and meet the demands of an ever-changing world.

Once having secured excellent GCSE examination results, pupils are then able to make a successful transition into ‘A’ Level studies as a member of this vibrant and over-subscribed Sixth Form.

The rapid rise in examination results is due to the school’s relentless drive to attain the highest standards.

As a Catholic High School, pupils benefit from moral guidance and pastoral support as displayed in the Catholic ethos of the community.

This ethos permeates every lesson and activity, encouraging pupils to become honest and reliable adults with a strong moral commitment in their work and behaviour.

This unique balance of traditional values and progressive teaching has enabled pupils to achieve academic success.

Pupils are actively guided to think of others and explore ways of helping within the school and community.

This voluntary contribution enables pupils to develop leadership and organisational qualities with a wider understanding of others; all essential skills for higher education and future employment.

The school offers a distinctive inclusive education based on traditional Christian values and high expectations.

This is an environment where everyone can flourish and students, teachers and support staff work for the common good of the whole community.

Visitors to the school always comment on the positive atmosphere in classrooms and corridors.

This is a school in which all teachers can teach; all students learn.
