“EDUCATION AT OLDBURY ACADEMY IS ABOUT DEVELOPING THE WHOLE CHILD AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO FLOURISH WITHIN AND BEYOND THE CLASSROOM”

Oldbury Academy

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the Headteacher of Oldbury Academy.
I hold a strong belief in the power of education to change children’s lives and the right of every child to receive an excellent education.

I am dedicated to building opportunities for students to achieve the highest academic standards, ensuring that they are regarded as individuals in their own right and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed in full.

Education at Oldbury Academy is about developing the whole child and providing opportunities for them to flourish within and beyond the classroom.

Our mission is, through a balanced curriculum and within an ethos of tolerance, equality of opportunity and morality, to develop the talents of all students so that they may enter an ever changing world with appropriate skills, attitudes and standards.

Oldbury Academy ‘CARE’ and this underpins everything we do at Oldbury Academy:-

Celebrate Together

Achievement For All

Respect Each Other

Expectations To Succeed

In 2016, Oldbury Academy received some of its best results; becoming the most improved school in Sandwell in Maths for students gaining A*-C, and the second most improved school in Sandwell in English for the same measure.

Our high expectations of every student, regardless of background or need, and relentless drive to improve all aspects of our school have contributed to this success.

We are forecasting continued improvements for our students in the coming years and place high quality teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do.

Both the Department for Education and Ofsted have recognised the rapid improvement we have made, but at Oldbury staff and students never stand still.

We have desire and passion for improving our school all the time, and look forward to watching our students grow and develop into outstanding young adults, able to make their contribution to society.

The school’s recent OFSTED inspection visit stated that: The pace of improvement has improved rapidly since the new Headteacher took up his post in January
2016.

There is a real sense of shared vision and purpose amongst staff.

The school’s open period is Monday, September 18 until September 22, prospective parents will be able to view the school between 9am and 11am by appointment.

The open evening is on Monday, September 18, from 5.30pm until 8pm.

The school welcomes visitors and loves to share what they do every day for all of their students.
