Here at Kingsmead, we are all supportive of each other and everyone is very friendly.
All of the teachers here are kind and teach us not only their subjects but life skills we may use when we leave school.
We like that the work is sometimes challenging but can be fun and if you find the work too hard, the teachers are more than happy to help us!
The uniform policy at Kingsmead may appear to be strict however these rules are put in place to make us all equal and look smart.
At Kingsmead there are a range of enjoyable clubs you can join from sports to performing arts such as: journalism, drama, netball, football, dance, vocal group and science club.
We also hold events which all years can participate in such as: K-Fest, Christmas Concert and the Year 7 showcase.
When we first started Kingsmead, we were quite nervous as it was bigger than our primary schools and it was different than our past experiences.
It seemed big at first, but we managed to find our way around really quickly.
When we first joined, we met Mr Truby (Transition Leader) who introduced us to the school and told us about our induction week, which is our first week at Kingsmead.
In induction week we played games, such as orienteering and other team building activities, which helped us work as teams and get to know the people who will be with us throughout our journey through Kingsmead.
We also get rewards for doing excellent work and putting effort into everything that we do.
Our advice to Year 6 students would be to remember we were all in your position at some point.
For us the year went very fast and we can’t wait to start the new year as Year 8s at Kingsmead. We have really enjoyed this year and we are excited for the next few years and we hope if you come here you will enjoy it as much as we do.
