Oldbury Wells School is continuing to rise.
Their students continue to be highly successful, their educational Trust is growing, and their linked Primary (Alveley School) has achieved remarkable improvements.
At the heart of Oldbury Well School are the pupils. Mr Glyn Mark, Deputy Headteacher, who has served at the school for 35 years said: “We have evolved into a highly successful school, but we have not lost our integrity of purpose.
At our school every child’s welfare, education and happiness drives our work.”
Last year their GCSE results ranked the school in 2nd place in Shropshire.
This is one of the reasons the school enjoys a now established reputation for high academic performance.
This year pupils have taken part in a range of inspirational and rewarding activities.
The school provides an motivational education, with a wealth of opportunities for students.
This year students have, for example: looked to the future by firing rockets and wearing virtual reality 3D glasses; enjoyed the thrill of white water rafting; worked alongside authors and artists; experienced the challenges of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme; developed their personal skills with Junior Sports Leaders; and developed their self-confidence with university experiences.
Younger pupils in the Bridgnorth area have also benefited from this inspiring approach, with events such as their “Sci-Fi Summer,” and the “Get Creative” project in the spring term.
“Our students’ successes have been built in part, through expanding our work with primary partners.
Our work with local schools through our Trust (the Bridgnorth Area Schools Trust) is advancing well.
This has brought a deeper understanding of primary education which is benefitting both pupils and teachers alike,” said Mrs Sarah Godden, Executive Headteacher.
Oldbury Wells Sixth Form also continues to flourish.
The school has expanded their curriculum offer with some new courses.
They welcome applicants from both Oldbury Wells School and the local area.
The school will be running a series of Open Events next term.
This will start with their Open Evening on Monday, September 18. Families should get ready to experience a thrilling evening.
After collecting their time travelling pack when they arrive, visiting pupils will complete the “Remarkable People” sticker book challenge!
